Why The MCSA?
Demand for individuals performing network and systems administration
tasks has seen significant growth in 2001, and candidates as well
as the industry have indicated that a certification is needed. The
new MCSA on Windows 2000 credential is a response to this growth.
The MCSA on Windows 2000 credential is for professionals who implement,
manage, and troubleshoot existing network and system environments
based on the Microsoft Windows® 2000 and Microsoft Windows®
.NET Server operating systems. These individuals typically do not
deploy new networks and systems as part of their job function, as
is expected of individuals holding the MCSE credential. In addition,
MCSAs are not expected to have design skills as MCSEs on Windows 2000.
MCSA Scope
The
MCSA on Windows 2000 certification covers the skills of network administrators,
network engineers, systems administrators, IT engineers, information
systems administrators, network technicians, and technical support
specialists as defined by the National Workforce Center for Emerging
Technologies Skill Standards for Information Technology and other
research worldwide.
